Brad Cline brings over two decades of experience as an Air Traffic Controller, Supervisor, and military leader to his role at Airboss Inc. A Lieutenant Colonel and Commander in the South Carolina Air National Guard, he oversees the 245th Combat Airfield Operations Squadron at McEntire Joint National Guard Base, leading teams in the safe and efficient management of airfield and air traffic operations. His extensive background includes service with both the U.S. Air Force and the FAA at Asheville and Charlotte Douglas International Airports, where he honed his expertise in safety, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. As a certified Air Boss, Brad has directed large-scale aviation events across the nation and abroad—including Oshkosh, Sun ’n Fun, the New York Airshow, and Osan, South Korea—ensuring flawless coordination and execution. Renowned for his professionalism, precision, and commitment to safety, Brad’s collaborative leadership and operational insight make him a trusted figure in both aviation and airshow management.
- Experience: Over 20 years of combined experience as an Air Traffic Controller and Supervisor, serving both in the United States Air Force at Laughlin AFB and with the Federal Aviation Administration at Asheville (AVL) and Charlotte Douglas International (CLT). Proven expertise in managing complex air traffic operations, ensuring the highest levels of safety, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory standards. Skilled in leadership, team supervision, and operational coordination across both military and civilian aviation environments.
- Knowledge: As a Lieutenant Colonel and Commander in the South Carolina Air National Guard, Brad provides comprehensive operational and logistical oversight of the 245th Combat Airfield Operations Squadron (CAOS) at McEntire Joint National Guard Base in Columbia, SC. In this role, he is responsible for leading and coordinating a diverse team of airmen in the safe and efficient execution of air traffic control and airfield operations. His expertise spans the integration of personnel, resources, and mission requirements to ensure operational readiness, compliance with regulatory standards, and the highest levels of safety in complex and dynamic airfield environments. Through his leadership, Brad has developed a proven track record of guiding teams through demanding missions while fostering a culture of precision, accountability, and mission success.
- Airshows: Fully certified to manage both large- and small-scale airshows, with extensive experience serving as Air Boss for some of the nation’s most dynamic and high-profile events. Brad has successfully directed complex aerial demonstrations and ground operations at major venues across the globe, including Tinker, Duluth, Ypsilanti, Sanford, the New York Airshow, Sun ’n Fun, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh (OSH), and Osan, South Korea. His proven expertise ensures the safe, seamless, and professional execution of each event, coordinating performers, support teams, and regulatory requirements to deliver world-class airshow experiences.
